On Monday 12th June 2023, Plymouth City Council received a phone call from Ofsted to say that their inspection has begun. This means that Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) will be visiting Plymouth to inspect the local arrangements for children and young people with special education needs and disabilities (SEND).
Why is this important to me and my family?
If you have a child or young person with SEND, it is likely that you have (or should have!) access to and support from many of the education, health and care services. Sometimes, these services work really well in providing the right support that is needed in an accessible way. Sometimes, things don’t work well and it is really hard and frustrating to find someone to listen to your difficulties. This is your opportunity to let the services know what is working well and what improvements are needed to support Plymouth families.
What happens now?
Can I share my experience?
YES! We need it.
You and your family (over the age of 11 years) are strongly encouraged to feedback your experience. There are separate online surveys for children and young people, parents and carers, and practitioners. There are easy-read versions and the opportunity to have the questions read to you by clicking a sound icon.
